We've been putting up our holiday "decor" on (or around) November 5th every year for about the past 8 years. We've recycled the same graphics for about 4 years. Our logo gets a little holiday enhancement and we replace some images with holiday themed images. We try to keep it subtle but festive. I personally think it makes a difference. Once someone invents the "smell-o-laptop" enhancement, we'll be pumping out a nice pine infused martini scent!
Seriously, adding a bit of holiday decor to your site can go a long way.
