I used chatstat for a while during their BETA phase. it was pretty cool. You can link your other IMs from AIM, MSN, Yahoo and so on in its control panel so you only have to run one program. Quality is great but its not the "BEST" benifits / cost option out there.
Their customer service was great though so it balances out

Hello everyone, Nick Matina here with ChatStat. We are a company focused on providing the best live chat software for shopping carts. Some of you old timers may remember me, as I was the original founder of MonsterCommerce. After finishing with MC, I started ChatStat and have been building it for about 3 years, always with the concept of commerce oriented chat as the goal. Tahj, thanks for the compliment. We have come along way from beta. I would be honored if you would download the latest version and give us a new try. TFremming, I know that there are alot of chat systems out there, but ours has many unique features and a one of a kind interface ( Screenshots). Also our program is an executable in C#, that runs from your computer as a program, giving it some functionality that a web page based system does not. Some of our coolest features include:
- Fast and Easy for you and your customer to use. If a customer needs help , they click on the button, and are connected right away! Simple, fast, and elegant prechat and chat windows ensure smooth operation. As an administrator you can edit all aspects of visitor side chat including: all colors, fonts, sizes, backgrounds, text, buttons, and logos are editable completely within the admin panel of ChatStat and take effect instantly when saved.
- No Risk - ChatStat comes with a thirty day free trial. There is never a contract, no credit card is required to try it, and all features are fully enabled during the trial. After you subscribe, there is a "no questions asked" 30 day money back guarantee. ChatStat will also back its product with 24/7 support and sales support that is sincere and available to help you.
- Real time info on site visitors. When a visitor shows up, moves around, or leaves, your updated instantly.
- Simple and familiar, out of the way interface. ChatStat is just like an IM. It has a small foot print and is easy to use. Just double click on a visitors IP to chat with them, or wait for then to contact you. If they do, ChatStat rings like a telephone, and you just ACCEPT or DENY the call. Multi Operator Awareness and queing are included.
- Remote Screen Share and Control - We call this Concierge shopping. You can now take over a shoppers screen, mouse, and keyboard (with their permission) and help them shop! This includes showing them products, adding to cart, filling out forms, and more! Works with Mac and Linux shoppers too. No install required, runs on Java.
- Multi Person Conference Rooms. Unlimited size language translating conference rooms with geo-mapping, with other ops or visitors.
- Language Translation - Translate in sixteen languages on the fly.
- Operator to Operator Messaging and One Touch Screen sharing - Once you begin using ChatStat on a site with many operators, you will find that instant messaging each other, transferring calls, sharing screens with each other, and colloborating outside of visitor chat is common place. This will help your business run more efficiently.
- Statistics on CHAT and WEBSITE. "Stats on Chats" should not to be confused with the statistics of your website. Stats on Chats is different from web stats because it tells you how many chats each operator makes, takes, and gives totals for all operators as well. We also using a fully animated MOVINGGRAPH system that allows you to pan and zoom through graphs visually. In addition, we also offer a number of regular stats tools, always at your fingertips, also updated hourly.
- IM Aggregation - Just like Trillian. All seven major IM systems will load into your contacts list inside ChatStat, so you only need on IM program. Additionally ChatStat connects with SKYPE to provide a full VOIP CALL BACK CENTER so you can place CALL ME BACK NOW buttons on your site as well, and call them using SKYPE or a regular phone.I do hope that we can help all of you enjoy the benefits of Live Chat Software for your shopping cart system. I will be personally monitoring this thread to provide any assistance you may need, or to answer any questions. Here is a 3 minute into video on live chat in general, and also here is a video that goes into exactly how live chat works with our program. Thanks!

" is that a hosted service or a purchased program? what is the price "ChatStat is a hosted service. We are hosted with www.peer1.com on five dedicated load balanced 8core boxes. Our uptime over the last three month was 99.99%. Our pricing is only $20 per month per operator for the basic system, and you can add features individually or in packages. Here is the pricing for each. FREE FEATURES INCLUDED with the basic package: http://www.chatstat.com/free.aspxPURCHASE OPTIONAL & ADVANCED features: http://www.chatsatat.com/pricing.aspxRemember, there is a thirty day trial, no credit card required, and no contract, and no program limitations. There is also a 30 day money back guarantee. Please keep all posts specific to your experience with NETWORKSOLUTIONS and CHATSTAT. The goal of this thread is to gather information on the compatibility and user experience between these two products only. If you wish to discuss other products, or live chat in general, please start a new thread.
Thank you.

Looks great, so far! I like the real-time stats -- very cool. I will test out functionality tomorrow with live customers.
I like what I've seen, so far. Very easy to integrate. I am going to move the button to the header at some point. I currently threw it in the left column to get it going.
The only thing I don't like is the a la carte pricing structure on some of the upgraded (FOD) items. It looks like it can really build up that monthly charge as they're a per month charge. Some of those options we'd like to have, but I'd rather use that money to go towards an extra seat. Maybe a package deal would help (does one exist? Maybe I missed it?) soften the blow.
I'll let you know more tomorrow after real time testing.
- Jeff

You welcome Nick. I actually remember chatting with you during a customer service session a while back. I was so shocked that the head of the company spoke to customers I told the other merchants in the old MC forums.
The software was great. I only stopped using it because I didn't have an available chat rep at all times. The customers liked it though and the dashboard was easy to use.

Well, I've been playing with it for the better portion of the day (it's kind of addicting to check out all the referral pages and where the customers entered the site).
I've modified the look of the chat window and have messed around a little here and there.
The customer service at ChatStat is great, too. I chatted with a rep on the site and got quick and correct answers to my questions.
So far so good! I know we'll be subscribing past the 30 day trial.

after speaking to both Roger and Nick we will be leaving liveperson whos products are both over priced and do seem to have reg. issues with their servers The Live Chat software was demoed for me by both Roger and the owner of the Company Nick and the features of their product pretty much blows away all the other companies providing a simular product (IMG: http://forums.networksolutions.com/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Been pondering adding live chat for a couple of years now. Stumbled onto this thread and over lunch decided to download and install it. I just tossed another custom module into my right column and added the code...within seconds - it's working! Wow. Could not have been easier. I go live on V7 in a couple of weeks and will post some feedback after testing. Looking good so far! (IMG: http://forums.networksolutions.com/style_emoticons/default/martiniemoticon.gif)

Gave the 30 day trial a spin about a week ago, decided the next day it was exactly what our site needed and immediately purchased a 5 user license. Our operators are becoming more and more comfortable with the program each day and we have found that most chat sessions are ending is sales which is the goal. Love the stats as mentioned above, we also added remote screen access which utilizes Live Look to screen share a customers computer and help them find the product(s) they are looking for.
Really happy NS posted the info on Live Chat!

I am talking to one of my V7 clients about using it on their site.

here is a comparison from some NETSOL customers who WERE using LIVEPERSON who have now switched to us: http://forums.monstersmallbusiness.com/ind...showtopic=20343skatesusa Aug 22 2008, 01:39 AM Post #6 Monster Newbie Group: Beta Testers Posts: 1 Joined: 24-March 08 Member No.: 12,228 after speaking to both Roger and Nick we will be leaving liveperson whos products are both over priced and do seem to have reg. issues with their servers The Live Chat software was demoed for me by both Roger and the owner of the Company Nick and the features of their product pretty much blows away all the other companies providing a simular product BY: Valley Aug 26 2008, 02:49 PM Post #10 Monster Wannabe Group: Verified Store Member Posts: 15 Joined: 23-May 06 From: USA Member No.: 6,110 I just downloaded ChatStat and began trying it out. I had used liveperson in the past. I have only had it on a few minutes, and already I am liking the ease of use, and the amount of information available to me. I especially like the IP address, and geoposition. And, I am pleased to see that there are features to help prevent live chat spam!

Had to pull Chatstat down for my launch - could not find the time to "dress up" the link. I am going to work on getting it live on Monday night/Tuesday.
On another note, I just had a client sign up at my request. They are on the 30 day trial, but will no doubt continue past the trial.
Will report back when martiniart.com goes live with this.

Well, our 30 day trial is over tomorrow and, like I promised in my earlier post, I'm back to give my review. After 29 days we got a great feel for what we'd need, as far as options go. If anyone reading this is thinking of giving the trial a shot, I'd recommend doing it. Here's what I've found during the trial period: ChatStat functionality & Service1. Customer service is top notch. I have been in contact with three people there and always got quick answers to my questions (hey, isn't that the purpose of live chat? (IMG: http://forums.networksolutions.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ). I had a few questions about the features and one of the guys over there activated them all so I could get a taste of what I would need for my business. 2. Implementation is cake. It was as simple as pasting some code into your site. The header is probably most effective place to put it -- we had it in our right column for a bit but it wasn't too active (we had a feeling that would be the case but we wanted to get it up and running). I used the icon editor to get the graphics to fit well within my site but they have a bunch of ready made template, too. I still want to tweak the icons a little but it's up and running and looks pretty good. 3. I also used the Logo & Conv. Window Control Feature to make the chat window look more appropriate for our industry. ChatStat also has a package with all these features that control the look and feel of the chat setup. I think it's called the Graphics Package (no ,really... (IMG: http://forums.networksolutions.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ). 4. We also implemented the Auction Support. That was a big one for us as we do a lot of eB*y stuff. Customers have questions at all hours -- I am at work late, quite often and they can get quick answers which convert to sales at a high rate! 5. This brings me to the Stats part of ChatStat. I have become addicted to clicking on the IP in the chat window and seeing where the traffic is coming from. You also get a thumbnail of the page they're on. It's pretty wild. Not only that, but you can get the full stat package to record all the referring URLs and tons of other traffic related info. It's pretty cool, for sure. We've had a bunch of conversions that have resulted directly from chats we've had with customers. In the internet age, especially, it's too easy for a customer to not see the answer and leave the site. It's kinda neat, too -- in the chat window, you can get the thumbnail of where they are on the site...you can see if they're on the right page or not. Oh, I forgot to mention...we also were originally not going to use the AutoChat Popup as I feel it's a little invasive, but after talking with one of the guys over at ChatStat, they gave us a great idea -- use it as a promotional device... offer a deal or coupon code or other industry specific info...You can use the timer settings to not bombard them as soon as they get there (which is not something I don't like when I'm surfing). We haven't had a chance to implement it, but it sounds like it could be a great idea and, since you have them on your site, already, you can help close the deal with a coupon or some type of offer. I'll let you know how it works out when I get a minute to set it up and try it out... All in all, for the money, it's well worth it. We're signing up! - Jeff

Finally migrated and I hope to have mine back online over the weekend.
I did install a trial on a clients site yesterday and they seem to be loving it. On Friday, they are going to be featured on a mega huge television show with a call to action to drive traffic to their site. Chatstat is one of the features they plan on using for immediate contact with (potential) visitors.
Looking good so far.

QUOTE (JeffZ @ Sep 18 2008, 02:19 PM) Hey Martini! Which options were you/your clients using? Hey JeffZ...whatever the basic defaults are when you download the proggy. We were not concerned about the interface so much as the abilities. If it proves successful and useful, my client will sign up. For my own site, I am planning on a signup shortly with some added features to customize the interface. For my client, its coincidence that the default button pretty much matches their site design.

We used ChatStat chat software for about 5 days (unfortunately we never got around to installing it until our free trial period was over). First, I'd like say the customer service was top notch... very quick and responsive. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the software's auto-invitation feature. It seems everything worked well except for the auto-invitation part. If you're going to use the program without the auto-invite, it may be a good chat program for you. We had two customers contact us (within 48 hours of each other) stating that they were receiving constant pop-ups inviting them to chat. The program was set to send one invitation only, 30 seconds after landing on the site. If we have two customers take the time to contact us, we obviously have to assume many customers saw this problem. I know I'd certainly go away if I got "invited" over once during a visit, let alone constantly. After "bribing" these customers with deep discounts, both of them were nice enough to report back to us, letting us know exactly the browsers and OS's they were using. Both were using Vista (21% of our traffic) and IE7 (71% of our traffic). Nick Matina called us twice trying to determine the problem and replicate it, and said everything appeared to be set up properly on our site. After the second customer in less than 48 hours complained to us, we decided not to use the software any longer on our site, since we couldn't determine for sure that it was just the auto-invite feature that was causing the problem. Nick politely and quickly refunded our fees, and stated that perhaps the java scripts on our site were interfering with the ChatStat software.

I've used ChatStat on three different web sites. Everything works as advertised and the support is par none.
Specifically on NetSol, worked flawlessly. On the other sites too. Watching visitors land and move through the site is very interesting and useful. That's the Stat part.
ChatStat provides another way of providing customer service to customers, much like a walk in at a store front location. People don't always want live help, virtually and literally, but if they do, there it is.
ChatStat is a great addition to any web site. Highly recommended.
The one caveat that has nothing to do with ChatStat but is a universal in all marketing, you have to work it or it won't work for you.
Don't cheap out and try to save on operators and features. Go for it!
