I'm looking for anyone's help to point me in the right direction. I have tried numerous times to incorporate the adobe spry tabbed panels, menus, etc. without any luck. The html editor window continually strips out certain types of code unless I bury it in a div tag...even then it doesnt always compile correctly (i'm also experiencing numerous errors using their nsScript...but that's a story for a different topic window). If someone could plse shed some light on the subject I would be greatful...even better if someone can show working examples (i learn best with visuals)

Thanks,
Jim

Hey Jim.
Just a tip...do not use the wysiwyg editor.

If you want your code to remain untouched, then I would suggest creating your pages by hand or by using DW. If you are asking about spry, I assume you are using CS4?

Create your pages and...
1. Upload them to the root
or
2. Paste the code into a custom page

I am not using any spry components on my site right now, but I have created and tested a few with no issue. They are really nothing more intense than javascript

I hope this helped a bit.

PS No issues with NS Script - as long as it is used correctly...no different than any code

Cheers

Martiiguy,

Spot on...it was the wysiwyg editor getting in the way. I found how to turn it off for the site and amazingly it is not auto removing javascript or "re-arranging" it for me. I know have tabbed menus working. Again many thanks!

ps. For those following this thread, I was able to use the spry framework directly on the homepage (index.aspx). I put a copy of the .js file into the themes/<insert name of theme>/ folder; put a copy of the .css file into the themes/<insert name of theme>/css/ folder; and with the editor turned off, I was able to set up my javascript links and calls correctly in the file.

Jerry have you had any crossbrowser issues with Spry? I just redid my home page with Spry tabs, and it looks like in Chrome and Safari there are issues with the featured products.

Hey Agkits,
I just saw this post - 6 months later. I had the details of this logged, but one of my drives crashed on Monday and the data was on there. I think I'll revisit this again soon. I have no doubt that there were some inconsistencies, but nothing at that time that I found that would disuade me from using Spry.

I remember a day when there was strong advice to stay away from CSS due to incompatibilities and the potential for depricating any CSS before it even hit the ground. Those were the days.

Ahhhh, visible table borders - life was simple then. (IMG:http://forums.networksolutions.com/style_emoticons/default/martiniemoticon.gif)
