hi,

currently our e-commerece site is from the templates.. is there any way to use dreamweaver to just design the e-commerece site? So it would look like the actual site...

if so, what would be my first step to doing this so everythings works (product purchase into the cart and everything)

Thank you so much,

aj

I'd suggest using fireworks to design the actual mock up of your site. From there you can build the sections of the site you need using dreamweaver.

we use dreamweaver to create te various sections of the site, i.e. header, footer, left column etc. once you've done this you'll need to paste the html code created by dreamweaver into netsol.

I am having someone do a site design for me using dreamweaver. I was told that we could insert a design from dreamweaver into network solutions. I am sure it can be done, but how and where do we put the design for the site in???? HELP!!!

Kinda, sorta - but not really.

As suggested, you should design the site mockup using Fireworks or Photoshop - or some such. One you have the mockup/design perfected, you are going to slice it up and use Dreamweaver to create the various "parts" of the site.

You cannot just upload a Dreamweaver template to the shopping cart root and have it work. Think of the commerce system as "modular" - meaning that you are going to be creating each section separately and adding them to the appropriate area. Create the header - upload it to the header. Create the footer - upload it to the footer...and so on. You have access to creating the "parts" but it's not a blank slate that you can plug a whole template into. This is typical of every commerce system - aside from a ground up custom build.

What I described above is not really a big limitation - you can get really creative. There are many sites here that are very diverse in look, feel and function.

Best luck with it!
