Hello,
In my V4 site I had sales data (numbers, products, totals, etc.) being transfered to both Google Analytics and Google Adwords. Now that my site has been migrated to V7 this data is no longer showing up. I've looked for the code to insert into the checkout confirmation page on Google, but it appears there are some custom naming standards in the NetSol CMS I may not know. Can someone from NetSol please provide the code to get Google Analytics and Adwords conversion data to work, and tell us where to put it? Thanks,
David

Hi David,
I can't commend on adwords conversion but if this is tracked inside google analytics google.com/analytics, the only thing you need to add is the account number in Operations >> Settings. You do not need to add any other code to your site.

David Hey Santa, can you come early this year? Like July or August? I mean David, the GA code is built in to the 7.x cart, seems to be working fine, but for Adwords, that is separate code that goes on the confirmation page on the payments tab of the cart for each gateway you have. You probably know that you get the code from Adwords, then paste it in on the gateway confirmation page(s).

Joe: My account number is in there, and Analytics is working on everything but capturing my sales data. I've had 3 sales in the last couple days and none are showing up in Analytics. Is anyone else seeing sales data in Analytics? You can find the code that needs to be on the page here: http://www.google.com/support/googleanalyt...amp;topic=11002The problem is that I don't know what the NetSol variables are. macrik: Hey, I wish Christmas was in July and December, for my sake! Yeah, I've got the Adwords code in the confirmation page. BUT, it's not capturing the dollar amounts like it did in V4. Same problem with Analytics. David

David We have had the worst luck with conversions showing up in both Adwords and GA in v4. In v7 things seem to be accurate, it is missing a conversion a day, so I wouldn't say it is 100 percent, that is, it seemed like it was until the 7.2.0.4 update or the one before that. Not certain how you catch dollar amounts in Adwords, if you know I would appreciate it. It is frustrating not being able to see where your conversions come from.

Ok, the product sales actually are in my analytics account. However, the total revenue is only showing up as $1 for each sale. Very strange. For instance, on June 9th my product revenue shows up correctly at $1,307, but the Total Revenue is $1??? This must be a GA problem, but I never had it with V4, and this has been happening since I switched over to V7. Any ideas?
Thanks,
David

macrick,
I had no problems with V4. I never noticed a missed sale in GAnalytics. I did just notice that I did not change my confirmation page URL in GAnalytics. Maybe that could be the reason I'm getting the $1/sale, but I'm not sure. I guess I'll wait and see.

QUOTE (macrick @ Jun 17 2008, 03:00 PM) Where is this page in Google Analytics, I have never heard of it. It's on a goal that I set up as a "conversion". When you're in your analytics settings you click edit, then you can set up a goal. I had my checkout page and the pages leading up to the checkout based on the V4 cart. But, I've looked around a bit more and I don't THINK that's the reason. I just put in a test order and looked at the code on the confirmation page. The Google Analytics code on that page is correct, so it should be working. It looks to me like everything is fine on the NetSol end. I just can't figure out why GA is showing me $1 total revenue figures for each sale. David

David Ah yes, the Goals, we have had that set up as well, it does pretty good job. Ours shows $1 on the Goals, because you can't get the real dollar amount in the Goals, that is in the ecommerce section. I set up the Funnel stuff for the the v7 for the checkout process since NetSOL left out that report, checkout abandonment in 7 is better than in 4.

When you say checkout abandonment in 7 is better than 4, do you mean there are less abandoned carts? We sell almost nothing this time of year being that we're a Christmas site, so I don't have much user data yet. Thanks!

I've double and triple checked, and I have all of my Google Analytics settings correct. However, my sales data is not being recorded. This problem began when I was "upgraded" to V7 and I have been unable to fix it. Any advice/information would be appreciated.

Google is going to do some more testing, but at first look they said their code looks like it has been installed properly but they don't know why the info is not passing back to them. My thought is that there is something on the checkout page not allowing the script to run. Btw, are you not allowed to message other members of the forum? Rob

If you need to contact another member of the forums you either need to ask them for their email or look up their contact info from the site or post the question on the forums.

I am seeing accurate sales data in GA, make sure you have Ecommerce Website set to "Yes" in GA. For Adwords conversion tracking, you definitely need to add the conversion code to Step 4 of checkout.

I am still puzzled why it was ok in V4 and not in V7. We have ecommerce set to yes in GA and we have pasted the code to the 'thank you' page. Thanks!

I also have Ecommerce set to yes, and the Adwords code in Step 4 of the checkout, but I'm not seeing sales data returned in Analytics or Adwords. I've got everything right on Google's end, but somehow this isn't working. I had no problems with V4, so I have to assume it's something with V7. As soon as I was switched over my data quit transmitting.

Can anyone from NetSol help with this? I really need this data to transfer in order to see which keywords are converting, etc.

Hi SantaClaus,
As we have stated before we cannot find any issues at all with testing as we have sites that this works perfectly on as you can see from djbuell. The only thing that could be an issue is if there is something in your design blocking the call to google or google is not accepting your information.
As stated we are integrated perfectly with google analytics but we are not integrated with google adwords tracking and we have never stated we were so we cannot guarantee that these will work perfectly together.
One thing that I can say is if you have extra JS on your site that may be causing the conflict. Otherwise all Google analytics data is or should be working fine.

Joe Please advise how/where in the file manager I can copy and paste the code to Checkout Page 4. I am also not getting the data. However, I KNOW I have not pasted the code into the correct location. Yes, I have the short code (ID) in the NetSol settings and have both NetSol and Google set to on. I'm getting the web sales reported, just seems to get lost in the funnel...most likely because I have not pasted the code into steps 1, 2, 3, 4. If someone from NetSol can advise how we can get to these pages to paste this code, perhaps SantaClause can double-check all of his, too. Thanking you in advance. Karol

Thanking you in advance. Karol You can paste code to the final step of checkout by going to Pages >> predefined pages and clicking edit on the checkout. In here you will see four tabs to insert code. You can also place code on this page by going to Operations >> Payments and editing the payment options you use. Then insert the code in the order confirmation message.
