I see that USPS shipping quotes are now based on ounces rather than rounding to pounds. This is fantastic!

I am now wondering if domestic First Class mail will become an option. Is there a reason why this isn't already available? We are currently using a custom shipping option to provide First Class service within the United States, but it would be nice to have it available directly.

Oh, and now I'm a little disappointed. I just realized that, although custom shipping min/max weights can be set by ounces, we are still limited to a base price + price per pound.

Is there still no way to have a custom shipping option based on price per ounce? Again, I'm specifically trying to implement Domestic First Class Mail, where the base price is $1.00 + $0.17 per ounce up to a maximum of 13 ounces.

We have simply had a flat First Class rate in the past and accepted this as a limitation of the software. I was hoping that we could finally charge customers a more accurate rate.

I have just logged both of these issues.

Yes, I'm new to NS Pro-Ecommerce and our most popular product ships (to destinations within the US) via First-Class Mail Parcel (aka. First-Class Mail Package). That is how we ship from our current Miva Merchant store (via Viking Coders "USPS Advanced" shipping module). I'm also disappointed to see that is not listed as a shipping option for USPS.

NS Ecom support says the shipping options I see are the only ones the Post Office would allow to be used with the software.

So our only solution is to create a custom shipping option that emulates USPS First-Class Mail Parcel rates

USPS First Class Mail is being added to the 7.3.2 release.
