What is it you are looking to do? You can add the XML file for google and get your site verified through their webmaster tools.

Hi christianbooksbibles,

We are not planning on adding in an automated google sitemap generator at this timeframe.

If you need one created you will need to use a tool like CoffeeCup Google SiteMapper or other similar programs. http://www.coffeecup.com/google-sitemapper/

There are a lot of free ones out there, simply just search for Google Site Map generator and you will get a ton.

Thanks. In browsing the coffecup site, I found a search tool that they have. Here is a link to it:

http://www.coffeecup.com/website-search/

Would this work on the NS site? I am interested in it, but need to know if it would even work.

Hi christianbooksbibles,

I checked out that software, all it does is use a flash file that you would call in your HTML some where. You then need to upload an xml file to your site that this flash file will read.

Since that is all it is, this should work. Note though that we will have a completely enhanced search coming out in a coming release so it might not be worth spending the money on this solution.

Hey Christianbooksbibles, I was looking at your website and was about to message you but for some reason messaging is not permitted on these forums now ? What are you currently using for your sitemap did you go ahead with the Coffecup Application ?

Joe,

So does V7 no longer has daily Html submitting that was a plugin with 4.0 ? I don't know if it's still billing me, did you guys stop the service for us when our sites were migrated ? Should I be using one of these Apps like the coffecup goggle sitemapper and submit daily now myself. I don't want to be redundent and submit it if it is already taken care of, so can you please let me know what you guys suggest as far as submitting my site daily and html catalog cause my ranking in google has went down since the migration.

Hi spaemp3,

All billing for that service would have been stopped when migrated to v7. Also that feature was replaced with the built in sitemap feature sitemap.aspx.

If you go to that page and have a link to it, this will function even better than the old seo catalog than version 4 as that feature was actually pretty outdated for seo.

Also in terms of google sitemap's that is just a specific sitemap that would be created that google can easily read when they spider your site because it is in a format that they created. So really you only need to create that anytime you make changes to your site that you want them to see such as new pages.

Overall though as to how often you want to submit them I can't really say as I am not an expert in that.

imho....focus should be on your google webmaster tools. not on netsol platform. generate an xml sitemap. there are hundreds of free programs out there that will do this free for site with under 500 pages, and a few that will go higher for free. once you generate your xml sitemap, upload it though the netsol file manager. then go to webmaster tools on google and go to the sitemap section, tell google the url of your sitemap (www.domain.com/sitemap.xml). google will then verify the sitemap location for you in about 30 minutes or so, then a few hours after that google will tell you how well they read your sitemap...i.e. 300 pages submitted, 225 pages indexed. they even give you the diagnostics to fix the problems with the un-indexed pages.

don't rely on net sol tools. be proactive with this and you will see good results. but be patient with indexing. could take a few months to see real results in google's index. but with the xml sitemap you will be on your way.

don't forget to submit to yahoo too.

good luck.

If you want to stay ahead of your competitors, then feeds like this need to be built in....I run a competitor cart and it has has this feature for over a year now.

Don't get me wrong, I like V7 but keep building and adding features the cart just don't stop just because you have now somewhat "caught up" with the other carts. Build a better mouse trap!!

Example: A few months ago I need a datafeed for an affiliate program I use on one of my other carts. I called tech support and for $160.00 and two business days I had my datafeed. I also have datafeeds for all major shopping portals, something that is sorely lacking in V7.

They were on an older version of the cart that had this built in. All customers are being migrated over to the new v7 version and eventually pretty much all features from that version will be in the new v7.x version. Version 7.x is a complete new platform build from the ground up so it has many improvements from the old version and we are working to make sure all functionality plus more is included from the old version.

With the next release and improvements to the Import Export you will be able to easily make data feeds for many vendors but remember that for some vendors our exports won't be a simple just export and you are done, you may have to format them to the other companies specifications but it will be much easier to do so with the enhancements.

In terms of google sitemaps which this post was about originally, we will not have a feature to make those but there are literally 100s if not 1000s of programs that can do this for you and most are free.

Also in terms of issues that you have had with V7 have you contacted support about these at all. If so make sure that they are logged so that our product management team can review them as we know for some people are software won't meet their needs but we do everything possible to make sure it can meet most of the needs for most of the users out there. There is always someone that needs a special case for something and while we try to accommodate most of those we simply cannot accommodate everyone.
