Is there a way to hide the shipping estimator in the shopping cart - I am getting less "shipping not available" errors in the cart...but 100% "shipping not available" in the estimator.

Any way to hide it?
Thanks

To hide on cart details:
Operations > Settings > Shopping > Display shipping estimates in cart details

On the side cart module:
Design > Site Design > Columns > Edit Module > Display shipping estimation section

The NSscript draw function:
<ns:shoppingcart showshippingestimate="false"></ns:shoppingcart>

Thanks Dave!

martiniguy,

Check your weights. The following is what I found when I had a similar problem:

I was having the problem with UPS where the estimated shipping was showing "Not Available", and in the checkout it showed "Shipping Not Available To This Location". After hours of trial and error, I discovered that it only happened on items listed under 1 pound. If an item showed "0" pounds and let's say 10oz, I would get the errors. Apparently the ounces weren't being rounded up to the next pound. After making the changes, it seems to be working OK. Not sure about FEDEX or USPS as I'm currently not using those options. Hope this helps...

Harry

Hey Harry,
Thanks for that tip, but I dont have many items set below a pound. I was getting that error with 15 and 18 pounds of product. The bummer is that I am starting to get complaints about shipping costs...which look much higher than they should. Besides adjusting weights down...and increasing the chance of causing an error; not sure what to do.

Dave, are you investigating why he might be getting 100% "shipping not available" in his columnar shopping cart along with your other investigation of why this even happens at all? I don't want to start getting this error 100% of the time. My customers are already upset.

I tried your side cart shipping estimator and it is working but you have a local pickup shipping method that costs $0.00 and applies to all products. The estimate returns the cheapest applicable shipping so it returns $0.00.

EDIT:
I misread that and thought you were talking about your site Rhonda.

Martini if you give me your URL I can take a look. The one in your profile isn't resolving to a store.

Thanks Dave - yes, I turned it off in my side cart for now because I can't find a better way to offer Local Pickup with $0.00 charge. As soon as I find another way, I'll be turning it back on and therefore, don't want to end up with 100% failure as martini seems to be having.
