Hello everyone. Currently we are using StoneEdge for our order management. I would love to break away from this due to the archaic software the system uses, the slow progress on updating the system to the version 7 shopping cart and lastly, the difficulty in customizing the software. I've looked through the shopping cart info and forums, but can't find an answer to the questions that I'm looking for.

In order to break away, there are some things that the version 7 would have to do that I'm currently doing with StoneEdge.

1) Is it possible to print mailing labels via USPS ground, priority etc from the shopping cart? We are currently using UPS World Ship for UPS and are using StoneEdge to print via USPS.

2) We are currently drop shipping products from all over the US. Is there a way to import tracking numbers that our drop shippers provide and apply them to orders without manually typing them in order by order? Currently I import a csv file into StoneEdge that contains tracking numbers and it automatically applies them to the order via the order number.

3) Once I import the tracking number for a particular order, an email with the tracking information is sent to the customer notifying them that their order has shipped. Is this something that I can do with the current shopping cart? If so, how?

I think that this is it for now. I just really hate StoneEdge and want to get our company away from it. Thanks for reading and I look forward to everyones insight.

You can do this with the .csv order import. Operations > Import/Export

Under Sales > Order Statuses, if you set the Shipped order status to send the customer a status update, then when you import the tracking number as in step 2, if you change the order status to shipped at that time as well, they will get a status update email containing the tracking number.
