I uploaded some new images as well as products this morning, and they still aren't active on the front-end site. I do a search and they don't show up. I thought I may just have to re-index in the MCP, but that has been done for a few hours, and the product page still isn't showing up.

In regards to the images, a week ago I accidentally uploaded full size images for the thumbnails. This morning I fixed the problem, yet they are still displaying as the full size image. I double checked to see if the path was correct, and if in fact the correct thumbnail image was at that path's destination, and it is.

An example is of part number (which is an indexed field): 9781845503758

Here, the thumbnail image (it displays the full size image that I accidentally uploaded a week ago) doesn't show (and the actual product page doesn't show either)

Strangely, when I manually type this in, it shows the correct image, but when I view it in the MCP, it shows the wrong image, even though the path is the same...

Can someone from NS tell me what is going on?

When I search for that part number on your storefront I do get the product page with the thumbnail image. Have you tried clearing your cache?

I also noticed an issue like this today. My product images on the product page are not resized to the setting that I have. Rather they are the extra large image size. However, when I click the Image Manager button, the size that is selected is Display (which I have set to 250 pixels) but the image name is the same as the extra large image name. The thumbnails on the home page are sized properly, just the display images on the individual product pages are not correct.

Could it be the update from yesterday caused this issue?

OK, so now it is working ( did delete all my temp files). However, should this really be the case that if a person doesn't clear the cache, they can't see my updated site? That can't be the way it is supposed to be...

If a person has an older image in their browser cache but the image has been updated since then, they will still see the cached file. That's the whole point of cache, so that pages load faster without having to again download images that they already have. However, your customers will not be visiting / previewing your website as much as you will. So this problem most likely won't happen very much to actual customers.

Most computer/browsers are set to clear their cache every time the browser closes. Alternatively, it may clear every time the machine reboots.
