I have Quickbooks 2008 installed on a Windows Vista machine. I completed the install of the Quickbooks Web Connector, but when I click on the "Next" button in the QuickBooks setup wizard, I get the message "Web Connector not detected. Would you like to try installing Web Connector again?" I clicked on "Retry" and went through the process again, but I still get the same message. Any ideas?

Hi Carlwright,
This is due to an issue with the new release of QuickBooks WebConnector 2.0 - they just released this last week and we are not integrated for that version. We do have an older version though that will function just fine if you contact us in support.

Joe Joe, I have the same issue with QB 2008. I'm working with XP. I was sent the older version, WC 1.5, but I couldn't install it -- it came back with a Subcription error. Did it several times and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions? And in the meantime I opened my store, the volume will be exteremly low, but I want to know--should I set up all of the products in the store and then pull them over into QB when I finally get this conection problem resolved? Joe

Hi Joe,
When you get that error, if there is a way to continue past it, you should be fine then. It will display that. Then when you go to install our Software setup from the control panel, it should work fine then.

Joe It gets past the error, says its installed, but there is no icon on the desktop, nor is it in the programs. So I can't find it to open it. And which software on the control panel are you referring to. I thought the zip file on the control panel was the 2.0 web connector. Joe

Hi Joe,
Our installer simply checks to see if webconnector is installed if not it hits up Intuits site and then downloads it and installs it. In this case it is downloading 2.0 because their site no longer has 1.5. Then our installer goes through and actually connects the site to the webconnector and QB and moves on.
So if 1.5 did go that far, try running our installer again, and if no go, install 2.0 again and it should work. When we tested in QA we had 2.0 - then installed 1.5 -this errored out as you saw. We then ran our installer and then it was able to use the webconnector, and the webconnector itself said it was 2.0 so not sure about that.
All I know is those steps resolved the issue. Joe

I think I'm getting closer. Everything from Intuit seems installed properly now, but when I run the Monster/Quickbooks setup wizard, I get the message "Your login credentials are invalid." in the online store verification step.
My account was a super-admin, so I would assume it would work. However, just to be sure a I created a new "quickbooks only" account that had all the "operations" functions enabled. That "login credential" was invalid as well.

Hi carlwright,
Give us a call in support, odds are it is the domain name you are using is not the correct one. You need to use the domain name that is on the top of the Control panel where it says MonsterCommerce Control Panel for: and then your domain name is listed.

That was the problem. The tip in the wizard says the URL is the format xxxxxx.netsolstores.com, so that was the one I was trying. The control panel shows the public URL of the store itself. That successfully has me logged in and gets me to the next step of the wizard, which, of course doesn't work either. After I click on "Yes" to the "Authorize New Web Service" window (and I see that Quickbooks is running in a window behind), I get the error "QBWC1007: An error occurred when connecting to QuickBooks. Could not start QuickBooks." - even though I see quickbooks running. I hit "retry" but it fails again. Afterwards, a new dialog window pops up asking for the QBWebConnector Master Key. After entering it, no new applications appear in the web connector application. Any ideas for this one? QUOTE (Monster_Tech_Lead @ Nov 5 2007, 09:55 AM) Hi carlwright,

Hi carlwright,
The best thing that I can recommend then for this is when the application certificate loads and displays, wait to accept it until your QuickBooks company file is fully loaded. So when we try to open quickbooks, wait a few minutes and then when you are 100% positive that QB is open go ahead and click accept and next on our installer. Also if your company file requires you to enter a password, enter in that password and have the company file opened before you press Accept on the application cert.

I waited for a while (and actually switched over to QuickBooks and did some stuff there) and I still get the same message. It seems related to the fact that there is a (now blank) master key set for the quickbooks web connector.he prompt for the key appears immediately after the connection failed. (I looked across all open windows to see if it was waiting behind, but couldn't find it. QUOTE (Monster_Tech_Lead @ Nov 5 2007, 12:32 PM) Hi carlwright,

HI carlwright,
Best thing that I can recommend at this point would be to try the following.
1. Uninstall anything that says quick books webconnector in your add/remove programs. Then restart your PC. 2. Once the computer is restarted just install webconnector 1.5. 3. Run the installer from your MCP
If still no go at this point there is really not much I can recommend as it should not ask for the master key, only your MC store password again this is to store it in the webconnector as it will use it on each connection.
Also once you have reinstalled webconnector 1.5 - you could try installing webconnector 2 again, then run the installer from the MCP.

I tried all those things including upgrading back to Web Connector 2.0. Now I just get the 2.0 version of the same error: QBWC1039: There was a problem adding the application. Check QWCLog.txt for details. Error connecting to QuickBooks. Error message received from QuickBooks was <Could not start QuickBooks.>. I noticed that there's an "Ad an application" button in the Web Connector. Is there a way I can use that to install instead? QUOTE (Monster_Tech_Lead @ Nov 5 2007, 06:48 PM) HI carlwright,

Hi carlwright,
You would not be able to manually add it through that way due to security reasons. Really the only other things that I can recommend is to possibly even reinstall quickbooks on top of itself or when you run the installers for any of these items if there is a Repair function I would run that.
I wish there was more that we could do for you, you might even want to see what Intuit has to say about webconnector not noticing quickbooks open.

Why is it now in March 08' Network Solutions is still unable to resolve this issue. I have been waiting almost a month to get up and running. Why is this not important enought to look into further. We are a Web Design firm with 4 more e-commerce sites in the que. Thats money you guys will be throwing out the window if we can't at least track down the reason this is happening.

Bguerrero,
Have you tried contacting support about this issue? From what I understand, most web connector 1.5/2.0 issues have been addressed as this thread has not been updated since November. However, I could be mistaken. If you have not done so, please contact e-commerce support and have them walk through your issue to make sure that there is not a more recent fix for it.

I have had a case open in Tech support for over 2 weeks. It has now been with the developers for over a week and still haven't heard anything back. This is getting rediculous. If this does not get resolved soon, I will be forced to find another soloution. (Something I do not want to do!) Danny www.intimatemptations.com
