 Image Caption And Alternate Text, What is the difference ? |

I am confused as to what each field should contain, are they different and Can I just put the same info in both ???

So, if your image isn't available, then a blank box will appear and the text that you have added in that "Alternate Text" field in the MCP. It will be displayed if the image is not found, and in some browsers (Internet Explorer, specifically) it will display if you mouse over the image. Hi Mike,
I am not SEO expert but I do not believe it will matter for SEO reasons. The only reason why you might want them to be different is if the user has images disabled, they would then see the same text twice then. Once for the image caption and again above it where the image should display... In terms of SEO the main point is that the alt tag is there for images. Joe |
