Hi Everyone,

I'm setting up a site that allows people to buy product or services (register for classes). Is there a way to capture a phone number (or other piece of information) from those ordering during the checkout process and relate it to the order number?

Is there any backend data fields that are available to hold this information?

I can always create a text box, etc. and have information emailed to me. Didn't know if I was missing any type of feature within Monster functionality. If someone has an alternative way, that would be helpful....

Thanks...

Hi RoederKIJ,

When a client places an order on your site it will ask for address, phone number, etc. I recommend adding a product to your site, and then go through checkout just like a customer would.

If you have questions please feel free to contact us in support.

It works for products but we were trying to sell seats at a seminar (i.e. educational seminar). If the person buying the course is the same one attending, no problem. The information is captured. If the individual (say a manager) is buying multiple seats for his employees at a seminar, we need to capture the names of others attending. Scenario as follows:

Joe (manager) buys 5 seats for the seminar. The seminar is a product setup within system.
While we capture Joe's information during checkout, there appears to be no easy way to capture additional (custom) information for other attendees (i.e. names, phone, email of others attending) and save it with order.

I can create some custom code to create the data input areas using the checkout page but didn't know if there was another way within package...

Hi RoederKIJ,

With the next release we will have personalization questions released for the pro version. With this you could set up a name and address fields on the product level. So this way when you need to buy multiple seats for your seminars - they would simply fill in the info and press add to cart, and simply do this for each person then.

This feature should let you accomplish what you need to and more information will be coming out soon on this feature set.
