E-Commerce version 7.1 is scheduled to be released on Saturday, November 17.
The update process will begin at 11:00 pm EST and will continue throughout the evening. Although your site will be taken offline during the upgrade process, this will last for approximately one hour while the update is made to your site.
Some enhancements for both
Standard and Pro packages include:
•
Changes to the look of the Control Panel. Your platform will continue to be powered by MonsterCommerce software, and you will continue to log in to your account through Account Manager, but you will see a new look to your e-commerce Control Panel.
•
Clone products – making it faster and easier to create similar products
•
Customize the way your storefront displays in-stock or out-of-stock information
• Allow customers to enter their zip code and select a shipping method to
view shipping cost and tax information prior to checkout. Showing this information increases checkout conversion rate.
•
Display products in the shopping cart as customers proceed through the checkout process. This provides assurance of what they are about to buy and allows them to make last-minute adjustments (e.g., add or remove a product, or change quantity).
• Plus, if you are a QuickBooks Point of Sale software user, you will be able to
import online orders into QuickBooks Point of Sale to avoid manual data entry, keep inventory in sync between your online and brick-and-mortar stores, and upload products from QuickBooks POS to your online store, saving valuable time.
Some additional enhancements that
only apply to Pro include:
•
Use “personalization questions” to sell products that can be customized for each customer (e.g., with monogramming or engraving services).
•
Create discounts that apply to specified customer groups – such as retail versus wholesale. Discounts can apply to all products or specific categories/products.
•
Easily use drop shippers and automatically route orders to them for fulfillment.
•
Save time with bulk data import and export enhancements.
•
Display dollar and percentage savings of price discounts to better promote sales.
•
Ask questions during checkout to get more information from your customers. For example, “How did you hear about our store?”
