Any info on how customer addresses (added via admin) are verified (against whose data)? I have customers where I'm getting an "invalid postal code" error - yet when I use the same address in my usps.com account, it is accepted as valid.

Is there a workaround when this happens?

What is the postal code, city and state that you are using?

Can you provide me with an example zip code that is giving this error?

In firefox, I was creating an order and I received the same postal error. The customer was 100% positive his zip was correct.

For his street address, I had originally had it like this... 1120 N Sample Street

I changed the address to 1120 NORTH Sample Street and the error went away.

Very strange.

I tested this on multiple sites and was able to create several customers using this City, State, Zip. Do you get this error while creating the customer, or when creating an admin order for a new customer?

When creating the customer via admin (this is a wholesale store that doesn't allow public registration). I don't want to post the complete address here in the forum - could I open a ticket and reference it to you?

Sorry, I don't have access to the ticketing system, so I wouldn't be able to get to it. However, we do not do street verification during customer adds, just verifying the State/Zip combination. If you are still having trouble with adding this customer, you may want to call support for further assistance.
