I have tried without success to add some JS code to popup a window in the product layout. I need to be able to show fitment charts on certain products but my JS messes with the right column and the bottom of the page. I am not experienced enough with NS script so has anybody go something?

Thanks in advance.

Hey pmblair - not sure what a 'fitment'* chart is (?), but can you give some additional detail as to what you want to do?

>Do you want a pop-up window to appear on page load?
>Do you want a new browser window to open when a link is clicked?

Would love to help, but not very clear on your question...

*Do you mean a sizing chart...or a chart with size correlations?

Thanks for the reply MartiniGuy,

I sell motorcycle accessories. I carry a line of foot pegs. The foot pegs require an adapter based on what make/model bike you ride. The fitment chart is simply a graphic of a spreadsheet that crossreferences the adapter required for a specific bike.

For the time being, I created a unique product layout that says under the display image "View More Images & Adapter Fitment Chart " (sample at http://www.texascyclechrome.com/duallyisopegsnoadaptor.aspx ). I must include a reference to the fitment graphic in the product images for this to work. This is my, i hope, temporary solution.

It would be so much better to have a button or a click here for fitment chart and have a window popup. My test URL http://www.texascyclechrome.com/test.aspx is the effect I am looking for. The problem is when I insert the button JS code in a product layout, the right column dissappears along with any associated products that should be displayed below. It is a mess. If I locate some working code I plan to have custom product layouts using the code whenever adapter fitments are required.

I hope I have explained thoroughly.

Regards,
Philip

Hey Philip...
Why dont you edit your product layout to include the button image that just opens a new browser window (blank target) with your fitment chart? No javascript needed...seems like it would be very simple?

I would also add a "click here to close this window" button on the pop up window.

Thanks for your advice MartiniGuy but I am no HTML programmer. I will just leave it as is for now.

A simple HTML method without a resize would be as follows:

To open (written within the page you want to add the function):

<a
href="somedoc.html"
target="newWindow"
>click here</a>

To close (written within the popup windows .html):

<a href="java script:window.close()">close me</a>

Hope this helps =D
