I have been fighting this problem for a week now and don't seem to be getting anywhere with Tech Support. We are a new setup and trying to get a test order to process. I am using QB Pro 2008. The orders are in the shipped status and show as unsynchronized in the Sync Results page. Below is the log from the webconnector...

Hi,
I have not been able to sync some of my orders with QuickBooks since February 5th 2008

I’m using QB enterprise 2008 but I don’t think my problem is with the version of QuickBooks.
Tec support was unable to sync with another version of QuickBooks they had in house either.

Tec Support is claiming the new release due Saturday 03/09/2008 will fix the problem for me. I will believe it when I see it.

I hear ya there. I am trying to get a site ready to go live by the end of the month and this is getting very frustrating. I don't want to have to start over with another service.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I just wanted to mention what happened to us when we first started syncing. For the record we have Quickbooks Pro 7. We found that if we were trying to download more than 1 page of orders, we would get an error and nothing would sync. Try selecting only the first page (manually check to make sure that any others are not checked) and sync from that point. OR, try checking off only 1 order on the first page - if that goes you know that you are trying to sync too many orders at one time. You should be able to sync 1 page at a time until you catch up. I hope that this may help someone, as it was our problem.

Jennifer,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have tried with just 1 order. I have only created 4 test orders total, that wouldn't be my problem.

I too, experienced a similar problem, except I'm using Quickbooks Point of Sale. Initially, I had problems with the qwc file and kept getting a "invalid login credentials" message. In working with tech support they emailed me a file and walked me through setting up a new qwc file. It finally synced with my POS file and all seemed to be working. What I (and no one else realized) was that new qwc file was created with a "test" username and password, and future syncs reported an "invalid username/password" message when I tried to login in with my normal password, therefore would not sync. Ultimately, this problem was discovered by right-clicking on my qwc file ****company name.qwc file, clicking "open with . . . Notepad" and scrolling down to username to see what username the file was set-up with. They had me recreate that test username which allowed me to select a password. We also uninstalled Web Connector 2.0 and reinstalled 1.5. I'm also not going to install any of my QBPOS updates to avoid updating back to 2.0 for awhile. (?) Anyway, when I went back to Web Connector and re-entered the password and clicked "update" it synced successfully! Yeah!!! arossman,

I still haven't heard anything back, the case is at the "Top Level" with the developers.

I had started using variations with my items as well, and after reading how this is supposed to work with the integration, I decided to use personalizations instead of variations. Still not sure how the items will import into the QB orders as I haven't been able to do it yet.

Personalizations maybe be something for you to look at as well.

I have been fighting with this issue for almost a month now. I keep getting Techs who can't seem to pinpoint the problem. I just want to know what do I need to do to get this to work.

These forums have been useful in getting down the pike- though every hurdle does seem to be followed by another stranger one.

As promised and predicted, version 1.5 of Web Connector installed without a drop of trouble- by comparison to 2.0. Of course, getting POS to sync the first time is now the problem- and the sort of error that makes me wonder whether every document I checked and cross checked on compatibility between these two products failed to mention something.

According to the documentation between NS and Intuit's site- any version of QB POS will be supported past 4.0- I run version 5.0 Pro- I've found nothing on NS to suggest that the product isn't supported and won't sync, based on compatibility in every other spot. The notes are written exclusively around QuickBooks, with no mention of POS.

So, how does one go about finding out if they have two incompatible products after this many man hours, and just what is an XML parse error? While the Web Connector problem seemed common- I would be eager to know if 5.0 Pro just won't sync with this storefront...

What is tech support saying about the XML parse error? And, I'm sure you probably are . . . but can you confirm that your checking the "export orders" and/or "import items" under the "Account Settings" and your logged into control panel with your QBPOS file open while you're syncing?

It doesn't even get far enough for the export functions for that to be an issue. This was true of both sync files that were opened- once the permissions were in place, the sync suffers the parse error.

I plan to file a ? on new issue to tech support will come next week. As it appears in the very first line of XML, i do have a fear it's a version issue, but hope it isn't- If the version isn't going to work no matter what, seems wiser to find that out now before going through several attempts and variations to make it work. Or at least that was my goal.
