In New York we have differant rates for different items. For example in our county sales tax on a book would be 8.625%, but on a shirt under $100 the rate is 4.625%. How do I handle this?

Hi Joe,

With our software unfortunately you will not have a way to distinguish that. All items will be considered general retail items such as toothpaste, and items like books, etc.

Note that special taxes like that only apply if you are retail shop in that city. For an online retailer all taxes should be generalized to the state with additional taxes that are set per city/county requirements. Those additional taxes from city/county requirements will be charged automatically though.

I see the store seperates the countys.
I am assuming that with QB integration that will also take place there or will i have to manually put it out?

Im also assuming that the store does not pay the liabilities and we will have to do that.

Thanks
James
