Does anyone know how do I go about configuring Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 for FTP access. I want to use this package to edit my pages quickly so where do I get relevant info i.e. the Hostname, FTP Login & Password info etc.

thanks

Steve

Hey Steve.
We do not have true FTP access...only through the options in the file manager app.

You can find your FTP user name and password within your Network Solutions Account Manager. The user guide gives the steps you will need:

http://webhostinguserguide.com/07-ftp_manager.htm

For the host name you can use your domain name that you assigned to your hosting package or your netsolhost.com address listed on your hosting details.

I hope that helps.

This is true only for ecomm packages (due to security requirements); hosting packages have full FTP access.

It may be but since he posted it in the hosting forum I figured I'd cover all bases (IMG:http://forums.networksolutions.com/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

What should my host directory: _______ be if I uploaded my folder containing my website into htdocs.

i have it currently as htdocs/insert name*/
(this doesn't work when I test with dreamweaver, it says that permision is denied or the file doesn't exist. When i leave the directory blank though it works and says it's connected.)

when i use the view live site option i dont get my target instead i get the domain/index_files/slide0001.htm

which is another file i previously must have uploaded however I forget everything i did to get to that step.

how do i get my dreamweaver webpage to work when i perss go for view live site instead of this picture i uploaded earlier?
