At my office I have Cox internet, no longer able to access.

FTP works from my iphone via 4G

is the FTP blocking my office IP?

They just sent me this response --this is the 2nd time they sent me this!!!

Dear Joseph Leipert,

I apologize for the delayed response.

With regard to your concern, I apologize for the difficulties you are experiencing in connecting via FTP. Please take note of the following to ensure that you can connect to the server:

1. Make sure you are connected via passive mode.

2. Turn off your firewall.

3. The password is case-sensitive.

FTP activity from that IP is getting the IP blacklisted. Constant FTP connections from a web cam on short intervals or a high bandwidth will do that. You will need to resolve that issue to keep it from getting blacklisted. Once you have made a change, please contact us to remove it.

You may want to post your webcam images to a local server and link the pictures from there.

I have not been able to connect to netsolhost in the last week also via Filezilla. It has worked until recently.
I upload backup data to a folder on our hosted storage through a program called Duplicati. This has worked for months - how do I check if our IP is now being blocked?
Is this just a Network Solutions list?
I'm getting
Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Error: Could not connect to server
in Filezilla.
I cannot connect via Explorer or command line either.
Other FTP sites can connect in Filezilla, just not Network Solutions.

I also have a Ticket # 3370483 with support.

I noticed that my site stopped updating on Feb 11 after running for 2 years without any update problems. It appears that an arbitrary policy has been implemented that blacklists any IP that updates a site more than some unknown interval.

I have had ticket 3467227 open for a week and after sending traceroutes and other information I was finally informed that my IP was removed from a blacklist. Of course, the IP that was removed is not the IP that is currently assigned to my DSL modem. The big problem, other than suddenly starting to blacklist IP addresses that update sites too often, is that I am on DSL and my address is from DHCP and can change for any number of reasons. If it is necessary to go through a process every time this happens it appears that the best solution may be to change to another provider.

As long as you are not doing excessive uploads (i.e. webcam uploads on a frequent basis, or other frequent or huge uploads), you should not have a problem. If you need to do this kind of uploading, our shared hosting platform probably is not the best choice for you. You would have no upload restrictions on a VPS, for example.

What is VPS?

Virtual Private Server. You have admin access to manage the server. http://www.networksolutions.com/vps/index.jsp
