How to stop or cancel one of the hosting packages in my account?
It seems that there is no possibility to do this from web site.

Agreed. This is a clear design decision and poor support in general. Allowing the customer to leave is just as important to customer satisfaction as is making it easy for them to sign-up... May will remember how hard it was to accomplish the simple task of stopping an auto-renew.

Agreed.

Horrible design.

The latest redesign has forced me to stop recommending ns as a web/domain provider.

It's now "Hotel California" - you can check out any time, but you can never leave.

We make absolutely no difficulties or hurdles to cancelling your service with Network Solutions. However, due to the important nature of your business decision and the security verification that must take place, it makes good sense for us to require in most cases that you speak with someone by phone to accomplish this. As an example, you wouldn't want your competition to email someone and cancel your website for you. I hope this makes sense.

Security is great; I sincerely appreciate that. But, I recently called to move a site and domain, and rather than asking probing questions about why I was moving that site and domain away from NS, the NS rep was belligerent and bad-mouthing my new host. I would have to disagree with your statement that NS makes no hurdles or difficulties in cancelling.

Well, I am forced to agree. Considering the security in place to protect customers while accessing and/or modifying accounts and hosting details, I see no reason not to include an option for ceasing the hosting completely.

For myself, I called the number above to close my account and was informed of the following: "All trunks are currently busy. Please try your call again."

That is not something I wish to hear, so I went in another direction and simply cancelled further payments. This will undoubtedly lead to my account being closed for me.

I have absolutely no issue with NS and in fact have enjoyed using the services for the last few years. I just do not have need any longer.

Just another opinion :-)
