Well, here I am, plugging along. A few months after I decided to go with NS for my hosting. I was hoping to avoid the problems I've had with my local hosting provider.

All of sudden my image links are all broken. I've called tech support but get only low tier help that seem clueless. I've not changed a thing, I'm using DW for all my FTP, just like I always have. In fact, other than two of my pages, I haven;t made any site changes for weeks. I've checked the server and all the files are there. The tech I talked to actually tried to tell me that I needed to add an extra sub folder to my image address links. For instance:

My original: http://www.msocp.com/MSOCP_2005_Graphics/H...nks/candles.jpg

The Techs solution: http://www.msocp.com/msocp/MSOCP_2005_Grap...nks/candles.jpg

Notice the second msocp after the domain? That's what they suggested. It works, but why? And why doesn't my old URL work?

The URL is www.msocp.com for anybody that can help.

Whoa...that is weird. Can you please clarify.
1. Are you migrating from V4 MC to V7NS?
2. Has your site been working on V7 prior to this issue popping up?
3. Did this happen when trying to upload files from another host?
4. Did you have the entire site in a sub-folder on your previous host?

Wont be back on until late tonight, but I will check back

Thanks for the reply.

I'll admit, I'm not sure what any of those acronyms are.

I can only say that I've changed nothing. I switched from my previous host months ago. I've not changed any of my folder structres. Furthermore, and this is going to be weirder yet. Check this test page I put up:

http://www.msocp.com/test.htm

See the image? Yes of course. The only difference between this image is that it's in a different folder.

By looking at your account it appears that your directory pointers may have been reset. To resolve the issue one thing you can try is unassigning your domain from the hosting package, then reassigning it and choosing the msocp folder as the location.

When going to your domain name right now, it appears it is pointing to the /htdocs folder rather than /htdocs/msocp. To verify this you can go to your domain name, http://www.msocp.com, which goes to the /htdocs directory, then try going to it with the /msocp folder appended to the end, http://www.msocp.com/msocp/, and your images should display.

If the unassign/reassign suggestion didn't work, you may have to contact our technical support to open a ticket to change the pointers on the backend if they are not updating properly from the account manager.

Well thanks but I just checked my account and my directory pointers for that domain are indeed pointing to /htdocs/msocp

However, just to test your theory I reassigned it to /htdocs and then back again to /htdocs/msocp in hopes that it nudges something.

I tried to explain this all to the tech (overseas) whom I spoke with but they were clueless. I've yet to get a call back from NS on my ticket.

In the mean time, our site is down and we're losing business.

This has been identified as a global system issue, and it will be resolved ASAP.

Well that's somewhat encouraging..........I guess.

What's the ETA though? Our site has been down for over a day now and still no email or phone calls from NS!

Well, I received an email saying all was fixed earlier today. It was. But now it not again! What is going on with this company. I switched to NS for the stability and professionalism. What is this?!!!

I just checked your sites and they are currently loading with no broken image links.
We apologize for the issues that were causing problems but they should now be resolved.
