How do you set up the Ecommerce section of Google Analytics to track sales/conversions?

I was reading this page, but I'm not sure how all of these variables are passed:

This is already setup for you when you enable Google Analytics under Operations >> Settings >> Google Analytics.

Eddie,

Is it possible for us to disable GA and manually put in this sales tracking code on the sales confirmation page?

We are still having problems getting GA to properly track our ad campaigns. I think this is becasue we need to add an extra line in the tracking code (GA code that is placed on the footer of every page). I would like to disable this and manually add this code to the footer, but disabling this feature would also remove the sales tracking data. I can try this if I could get that tracking code to place on our payment gateway page.

Thanks!

Rob

I can't say if this will work for sure but you could try it. Just place the GA code in the footer of your page. Then go to Operations >> Payment and edit each payment option you have setup. In here place the conversion tracking code. If you are unsure of the code that we use, you can view the source code of your pages to insert the code you wish. To see the code to place in the order confirmation message for your payment options you would have to view the source of the order confirmation page that appears after checkout.

Hi Eddie,

Thank for the reply. When I view the source code for the order confirmation page, I only see the order data, I do not see what the varaibles should be. I can get some of the variables such as order amount, shipping amount, but I need the other variables, such as product name, sku, amount, etc. Is there any way to get this info from a programmer?

Thanks,

Rob

I found most of the variable with the help of tech support. However, the site will not allow me to put in these variables. Any way around this?

Where are you trying to put them and what happens when you try to do it?

I am putting them on the payment gateway page (sales confirmation thank you page).

It is like the system will only allow certain netsol variables to be listed. If you try to put in any variable that is not already available thru the drop down box, it will give you an error like this:

The following errors have occurred:
- Property 'Product' not found. (Line 10, Character 1)

GA is has not been properly assigning sales to the correct campaigns. V4 worked perfect and I just can't get V7 to work ok. This is my last hope and any advice would be much appreciated.

As a follow up to this, it is possible to add the tracking code for Google Checkout order completions?
Since GCO is acting as a third-party cart by leaving mysite.com and going to checkout.google.com...I am losing my Google Analytics tracking at this point. I use both the Network Solutions Cart via Authorize.Net (which tracks correctly, more or less) and now the GCO cart.
I am losing 30-50% of my transactions in GA since adding GCO to my site and want to fix it.

Any ideas?
