We recently moved a client website from a linux server to NS (Unix) package. After some real effort to install and migrate this over, we finally got this to work. However, when we installed the SSL certificate and assigned a component to use this SSL connection, we get a Service Temporarily Unavailable message in Internet Explorer. Same in Firefox and Safari.

The message continues with, " the server is temporarily unavailable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later."

The problem persists and I know this is not a Joomla issue because the component functions perfectly on 20 other Joomla sites hosted elsewhere on Linux servers. All I'm getting from customer support is that it's a joomla issue and I keep telling them it's not!

The component has a plugin which, when enabled, directs all activity for the component to 'https' because it requires the user to completed a form for submission. Seems when triggering the SSL from the component it fails. The SSL only works when I manually create an external URL link using 'https' but the component calls for the SSL via the plugin.

Anyone have a solution because this is extremely frustrating when I know it works flawlessly elsewhere.

Turns out that the SSL Certificate was installed but never verified by the recipient's email assigned at 'WhoIs' registry.

There now seems to be be an issue still with server side assignment of the SSL secure pages. Joomla 2.5 components calling for secure pages does not work. The SSL only works if I hard code the https:// into the navigation links. Anyone having the same issues?
