I see there isn't a post on merhant account recommendations like there was on the vs.4 forum.

We are looking into changing our merhant service provider and would like to hear from others.

Hi everyone,

We can certainly help you with your merchant account and gateway needs. Network Solutions has their own payment gateway as well as merchant account that works seamlessly with your ecommerce package. We help with integration and do all of the tech support for both the merchant account and gateway in house.

Well we can for sure tell you which one not to use anymore as they are feeing us to death!
and PS it came recommended by , well pm me if you want the name!

Seems they have good rate, but oh wait a $15.00 fee for a retrieval fee, $15.00 Charge back fee, $15.00 to dispute win or lose, and I think a few more $15.00 total BS have never seen so many $15.00 fees for one thing!

So it is time for us to look elsewhere for a merchant service also as these fees are insane.

Dave

PS: To our current merchant service provider, please rethink your policies on all of this and let us know if you want our business anymore

We use Network Solutions and have found them to be the best by far. However, it really depends on what kind of people are shopping with you. For us personally, we lost thousands upon thousands of dollars because we switched to Chase Paymenttech because they guaranteed a great rate (right under 2%) for processing. However, after several months it became evident this wasn't true because most of our transactions were interchange transactions (the credit cards used by non-profits and businesses), and they were charging us an interchange rate closer to 4.5%. It went on for awhile because my rep kept saying he would take care of it.

So if you have business customers mostly, make sure you ask about the "interchange" rate.

It's time to start looking at another Gateway for us, these little fees for EVERYTHING are getting old!
Seems fee for fee etc etc and every time a cust inquires his bank about anything it's another fee.

Any feedback on the other cart supported ones would be great

Thx
Dave

One thing you have to consider, is whether the cards being charged are going to be consumer or business cards. That will affect whether you get the rate they promise you, or something called the interchange rate. I learned this the hard way and lost thousands of dollars...

I have already asked... they call it qualified and non-qualified. The difference is about 2% on the rate.

Hi,

We are looking to change our merchant account provider. Based on the reviews, we have contacted eMerchant Discount (usa ePay) and Network Solution's Merchant service.

I am very disappointed with eMerchant Discount, I spoke with a Marlon Harris last week, and this week I left him 3 messages (one on his voice mail, two with their receptionist), and could not get a call back. If this is how they handle potential new business, I am terrified of their support service.

We are in the middle of our v7 migration, so we would like to sign up with a new service very soon to start v7 with a new merchant service. Can anyone else recommend another Merchant service provider that is really good to work with?

Thank you!
Jenny

I can tell you who we have used for years and the issues we have:
North American Bancard
The only issue we have with them is the chargeback fee $30 we've only ever had 3 chargebacks but still it's a little high, what's even crazier is that we offer a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and if the customer had called us we would have refunded. Anyway they charge a $10/month statement fee and there's no opt out, we always meet the minimum transaction amount of $25.00 (percentage of sales fees) so we don't have to worry about that. They use authorize.net which we LOVE and both NA Bancard and Auth.net customer service have always been very helpful and answered the phone pretty quick. The rate... eh it's started off good and it's still pretty good we could save a couple of tenths of a percent to switch but we know eventually they all go up. They made us sign a three year contract but that was 9 years ago, the market has changed so I don't know if they still use contracts. Anyway, we're pretty satisfied doesn't seem like they're robbing us so we'll stay until they change something. Hope this helps...

I am looking for a merchant account provider. Did you switch providers?
are you happy with their service and price?

Thank you,
