We just received our merchant processing statement, not only did they not remove the $6.95 fee for $50k breach security coverage, which we already have, but they added a new fee, $12.50 for a MERCHANT CLUB which I never heard of and received no information on. I didn't join any club, who has time for a club, all I have time for is chasing people around that like to nickle and dime us to death. So as I looked back over invoices, they charged us this $6.95 fee in May, June and July.

Who does everyone else use? I have 16 line items of fees ranging from .33c to $12.50 each month, and that's not including the fees they deduct on each sale.

Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

We use Authorize.net. Been using them for 4 years and we are very satisfied with the service and cost.

We use PayPal's WebSite Payments Pro and have never had a problem and your discount rate percentages drop with volume. If you have a volume PayPal account like mine, the discount rate drops to 1.9% + $0.30 per transaction when you volume over $100K a month volume. And only 1 payment of $30.00 per month which also gives use of Virtual Terminal if you do phone-in payments. Between my 3 web sites for over over 9 years we have tried all of the "SUPPOSEDLY" discount merchant accounts and they ALL pull nickel/dime stunts! This has never happened on my PayPal account. And we never get Statement Fees, Gateway Fees for Vitual Terminal like others do, and no surprise fees ever! And NO I am not a PayPal employee, just a volume reseller on eBay and my 3 web sites. People tell me war stories about how PayPal screwed them but I truly feel those people probably had legitimate reasons to have their account locked for investigation. When I get a chargeback (and we ALL get them), PayPal has been helpful in negotiating and resolving issues. And with my PayPal account as a merchant card processor I don't have to go out and pay for very expensive (over $1,300 a year) PCI scanning on my sites. Just my SSL. Think about it and go check your PayPal account for the details on using Website Payments Pro. Even if you do not have a PayPal account you can go to www.paypal.com and get the info. Thanks for your time!

Thank you very much for the detailed information, I appreciate it. Unfortunately I have been trying to stay alive with all these outages and haven't even began to look into it. We do have a regular PayPal account for customers to use and I do like No Surprises - I will have to read up on the Website Pro - just don't want it to be a requirement that they open a paypal account in order to be able to check out...so I will read up. Thanks again!
