Hello all -

We have noticed recently a lot of reports of site slowness throughout the mcp. We have been monitoring the situation and our monitoring tools are not showing any problems. We would appreciate your help in resolving this issue. If you are seeing slowness and timeout errors in your mcp could you please post in this forum thread the date, time, and exactly what you are doing in the mcp to receive these errors. We are continuing to monitor the situation and would appreciate any help you can supply to us.

Thank you,

Ive tried and tried to call and more so email NetSol with the issues at hand stated in this topic. The scary part is that NetSol cant find anything wrong but everyone else (the customer) can. Im obviously frustrated here - I'll try and post what I can to help, but any phone order I take usually has some period of waiting, slowness, latency, timeout. I can only imagine how many customers have issues that just end up going somewhere else...

We have been using NS e-commerce for almost 2 months now.
We really don't have any serious issue with the network. But, my experience is with MCP is that it is generally slow to very slow if you work on the product data tables. Other areas seems to be reasonable.

One thing I've noticed by looking at abandoned carts is that we used to see customers abandoning their carts during the checkout process. This was fairly common.

Since last Thursday, our abandoned carts (7 days worth) show that the customers have not even entered the checkout process (we may have 2 or 3 that did abandon during checkout).

This makes me think that since the last release (last Thursday), most potential customers can't even access the checkout process. That caused us to test today and sure enough, the one time we tested, we couldn't get into the checkout.

Our order count has dramatically dropped as well since last Thursday as well.

I experienced slowness just trying to log into my admin console. Once I was logged in, things were rather timely but I never spend too much time at once in the admin console. Makes me think it's very intermittent.

NetSol, I hate to say I told you so...frequent updates - a critical view

NetSol, given the troubles that have occurred (as evidenced by posts within this thread and others), I strongly urge you to please reconsider your new "frequent update" policy.

(on a side note: we haven't noticed any troubles after the most recent updates, but we've been off for the past three weeks, and have just recently come back...so we wouldn't really know, had there been a problem with our site, as well).

Thank you for your consideration.

I saw NetSol asked to let them know when errors occur with slowness and timeouts. Its 9:50 am Central time and as I navigate my admin area its takes a VERY long time to get from tab to tab. Or it simply times out. Im used to it...but will it ever get fixed? anyway, that my errors. I have iTunes running as well on my system...otherwise the system is slow as usual. hope this help the techs at NetSol

Hi Eddie,

Thanks for reaching out to us. I don't know if this info will help, but here is what we notice...

We have experienced the error messages/ unresponsive server problems on all computers. There are 5 computers here at the office. I don't have many issues with he computer I use but there are 2 in the office that seem to have the most problems. These computers don't have other internet issues when attempting to access other sites. One computer is using windows vista the other XP. Problems happen in both IE and firefox.

When I started this message, this problem computer is still trying to load a customer order page. Now the site is completely locked up for this other computer. We can cruise around the internet on other sites but cannot access the mcp.

So, this tells me that the problem has something to do with the end user's environment. What could the mcp be doing to these machines to cause the to lock up but not others?

Here are 2 days of problems that happen on this one computer:

3-18-09 - FF

2:00 Login – froze
2:19 Search – timeout page
2:29 Search – timeout page
2:32 Search - froze
2:39 Search - froze

I just noticed something odd...

For 2009 my site has used up about 16gb so far.
However in March, it used 7.5gb which is about 47% of the 16gb. I didn't notice any [big] problems with slowness in Jan or Feb, but in March I had my fair share.

We have a similar experience as Rob1

4 computers at the office: No problem of accesing the admin panel but when taking customer orders 2 computers are experiencing problem;

Computer 1 (since Day 1)
When entering customer info on checkout pages (INTERNET EXPLORER, Wireless Keyboard)) the page refresh itself or stop typing. This started since we have switched to V7 in September. Maybe something to do with the wireless keyboard but it does not happen on other internet sites.

COMPUTER 2 (started recentely)
Internet explorer - Page refresh itself during entering info on checkout pages
FireFox - Checkout does not load, we have to keep talking to the customer and the wait time can be over a minute or more.

Ive had 2 IT companies look at my system to be sure the ERRORS and slow cart im experiencing are not on my end. Im hoping Network Solutions can actually help me out. Today I took 2 orders over the phone, the cart was not responding in EACH stage of checkout. If I didnt stop my browser and try again, Im assuming it would have timed out (order I just placed on amazon was smooth as can be - ordering while my NetSol cart was timing out.

For the sake of the network solutions tech reps Im including a message from the second IT company that analyzed my network. It should be noted I dropped one network solutions account today due to all the difficulties. I guess fair warning for the rest of my sites. Please correct the issues on my site...see IT response below:

Mr Fritz,

After conducting all the testing at your business in reference to your issues with the various Network Solutions sites and services, I do indeed believe that they are internal to Network Solutions. None of my testing yielded any latency issues on your local network, or through your local ISP (internet service provider), and response times to all internet sites, except those related to Network Solutions, were outstanding. I recommend you consult with Network Solutions and explain your experiences, and ask for immediate resolution.

Please post what you were doing in the mcp as well as if you are receiving errors or the site is just slow. If your whole site is slow it is not related to this issue and it will be best to contact support. The issue we are investigating only lies with mcp slowness.

I have had a few issues this week with timing out. Either on initial log in, or while trying to print an invoice. The site either timed out or was taking so long I gave up and retried. retrying with out closing the browser worked for initial log in, but did not work for printing invoices. Close session and re-login then print worked fine. If it becomes slow I just close and give up and then try again...

Using IE7 if it makes a difference.

I downloaded Firefox because I was having these same issues with IE. I figured I would use the Firefox just to go into NetSol and do my updates, etc....but as it turns out, it runs so smoothly that I use only Firefox now. The added benefit is that when I looked at my reports, a good majority of visitors also use Firefox so I know they are seeing on their screen what I see on mine. I would definitely give it a try, it was a free download, think it was at firefox.com I didn't download their email program because my current program works well.

What is going on with the slow website and MCP? all day we can't even seen to enter orders without waiting for a couple of mins at each step...
It is extremely embarrassing to have to tell the customers on the phone to wait while your computer can take the next bit of information to complete an order.
I fear the more than usual abandoned shopping carts is another indication that our online customers are having it just as bad as us here in the office.

NS, Please let me know what you need from us to check into this.
