I have two main sites, an informational one hosted elsewhere and an ecom package hosted with netsol.

Verizon, after 6 years, has decided to block port 25 for outgoing SMTP.... The netsol ecom email is on 2525 so I can still send email on that. The other one is on 25 which is blocked now. I contacted our hosting co for that one and they can not or will not offer a different port. We will need to move the host apparently.

I checked through what documentation I could find and didn't find the answer I was looking for. Do any of the hosting or stand alone email packages, non-ecom, have the ability for send SMTP on something other than port 25?

The site is small ~30mb as is and is solely focused on an at most 50 mile radius of our location, but we do need to interact with our customers....

wow that is strange..... I wonder what they think they are doing blocking port 25.... I would imagine if you used notsol as host you would be able to use 2525. I would hope that isn't limited to the ecommerce package

PowederDay,

I checked into this and I can verify that all of our nsMail options will allow you to use either Port 25 or Port 2525. You can see more details on the following two help pages -
http://www.networksolutions.com/support/ho...authentication/
QUOTE
You may also try and configure Network Solutions Outbound Mail server to connect to Port 2525 instead of the default Port 25.

Some ISPs will not allow you to use Network Solutions outbound mail servers. If that is the case, type in the name of your ISPs outgoing e-mail server (ex. smtp.myisp.com). You may also try and configure Network Solutions Outbound Mail server to connect to Port 2525 instead of the default Port 25.

I hope this helps.

Thanks James. Neither link worked for me though..
I have the netsol ecom site email working just needed to verify that if I switch hosting for our non-ecommerce site to network solutions that I would be able to send email on a port other than 25.

Not sure why verizon changed its mind, but it happened early yesterday AM... I see no point to it but... I have no choice other than Verizon or to move...

I got the same result when I first loaded the page. I refreshed once or twice and they did appear. There may be changes going on for the storefront that are causing this right now, but I wouldn't worry about it. I'll make sure our storefront team is aware of it.
