We have tried again to use the QB web connect. I was lucky enough to get a tech on the phone who thankfully was able to guide me through the whole process.(thank-you Matt C.) Now that it is done it seems that the information being downloaded through our QB-Pro 2007 is not usable as received.

I would like to ask that a separate section be created for all issues Quickbooks so those that are using it can help the rest of us who are trying.( I found a lot of questions pertaining to Web connect etc. but most had no responses)

We can't use the information that is being exported from NS e-commerce because the fields being exported are different from those we use in QB.

We base our inventory on product part numbers not descriptions or short descriptions used on the products page. I was told that the NS store is unable to control which fields are exported, is this true?

How are others using this program? We have to manually take the orders that come through the web connect and recreate them by entering the customer information. Currently they are imported into a separate Web Store file and I don't see a way to automatically remove them to create a new customer.

I am wondering if rather than using the QB Web Connect it might be easier (although time consuming to set up), to import the sales orders into an XL file and use that file to import into QB. Anyone try this?

Please submit your comments, questions and suggestions based on user experience. Does anyone use QB Premier and is that better to use?

Thanks in advance.
Andy B.

Hi Andy,

We use QB Enterprise so I can't comment on your version of QB, but I can say that the QB Webconnect does not work for us either because it doesn't use the PArt number to match products. Much has been said on this board about that issue.
We use the order export to put orders from V7 into QB. Here is what I wrote about that. http://forums.networksolutions.com/quickbo...tool-t4446.html

While it would be better if the Webconnect worked better, this is better than manual entry. The tool can be used for other functions as well.

I also would like to comment about the fact that Webconnect does not work well. In fact the whole reporting side of the store leaves much to be desired. I would like to see a whole, separate section on reporting and managing your orders as well.

I played with QB today and found that I can only download invoices or sales receipts into our QB Pro2007. It goes into a separate customer file. We can not do anything with the downloaded sales receipts such as convert them to invoices. We can go into the downloaded invoice files, change the customer from the auto-generated one to match the billing/sales info. without creating a new invoice. Then we have to change the item from the description that is downloaded to the equivalent part no. in our QB program.

It saves us a little bit of time compared to working from scratch.

NOTE: I called intuit and spoke to a sales rep. He indicated that most users of the QB web connect do not have a problem with integration or it's compatibility with the web hosting company product that uses it.(NS). Maybe we can start a calling campaign to them to find out why our version is so lame!
