We received an email from Google yesterday that the condition attribute will be required as of June 30th. Will or does the product feed generator contain this attribute? And where do you set that attribute for the individual products? All of our products are new so a single place to set that attribute would be great.
Thanks

Thanks There is currently no single place to set the condition attribute for all products. However, you can use import/export to add the attribute to your products and then enable it on the feed. HTH, John

Thanks You can setup an attribute under Inventory >> Product Attributes. You will then go in and assign that attribute to your products, either individually or using import/export. To use attribute in import export the guidelines are in the Product Field List link... QUOTE Format: Name=Value with semi-colons ((IMG: http://forums.networksolutions.com/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) as separators. For multi-value attributes, values should be separated by comma (,). Any name or value containing any character other than letters and numbers must be quoted. Examples: "ISBN-13"=2381739274901; Color=Red, Blue, Green; (multiple values) "Bin-Location"="1289-48", 121, "Back Left"; (multiple values) Author="Smith, Jones, et all" (Single Value) Once that is done you will go in and assign that attribute value to your feed by editing the feed and choosing that attribute for the condition. If you are having problems with the attributes using import export my best suggestion would be to assign the value to one product and then run the export. Copy and paste the value into the rest of your products and you should be set.Let me know if you have any further questions!

QUOTE (ParkerYamaha @ Jun 2 2009, 07:00 PM) Should "New" show on this product on the store front? No, because your active product layout does not contain the attributes NsScript. If you want attributes shown on the product layout and you aren't using a default layout you need to add the NsScript to the layout in Design >> Product Layout Design. The attributes call is the very last one in the NsScript dropdown list.

This doesn't seem to be working for me. Is the "Generate Google Base Feed" going to add the condition attribute to the feed automatically? I don't see it in the feed data.

Thx Dave

Thx Dave You can use import/export to add it to each product in bulk. Shouldn't really take much time at all. I can't say for sure what Google would do with the feed.

Will Base accept the feed or kick it back because of empty fields? This page: http://base.google.com/support/bin/answer....p;answer=148684Says they only accept 3 values. Doesn't say how blanks are handled. Products with no condition will probably be rejected. I'll verify this and update this post as time allows. UPDATE: I was able to upload items with no condition and with conditions not matching the 3 they allow. Time will tell if they ever show in the store. Since the condition attribute is now required, your best bet would be to add it to all your products you want listed.

Dave & Eddie Thanks for all the help on this.
I for now changed all to new via import/export but had some errors.
WHEN you have time can you look at that error file its in our file mgr>feeds> the one with error at the end and see what is going on? Some are easy to understand ( not sure whey they showed up now?) but some dont make sense
Thx Dave

The condition attribute has been added to my feed, but GoogleBase is still saying that my products are missing conditions. And what's really weird: if you click on one of the products "missing conditions" from the GoogleBase Data Quality report, the condition is there!
Google, Google. Ohhhh myyyy gawd, Google. You're killin' me.

QUOTE (GSGS @ Jun 11 2009, 07:29 PM) What is the best (easiest) way to add this attribute for V4 users? Version 4 doesn't include a feed generator, so you would have to manually add it to your manually created feed. If you mean you are migrating to version 7 from version 4 then you would just use the instructions in this thread. If I didn't understand the question please rephrase it because I'm not sure what you meant.

What is the best method for revising the file generated by DP5.0? Is there a way to add (mass update) the attribute "condition" to all my products and then use DP5 to create the correct file? I am open to any suggestions. Thanks!

Thanks! Attributes as a feature don't exist in 4x so they can't be added through the software. The easiest way would probably be to open the feed file in excel and add a condition column and then copy and paste the condition.

The condition attribute for the GoogleBase feed is still not working for me. Here is the database error according to a Celebird analysis: "header error [condition] missing required attribute".
Please help.

Please help. I'm not familiar with "Celebird", but in reviewing the feed on your site, there are several products with no condition near the bottom that may be causing this error. Is this an error you are getting when you try submitting your feed to Google, or some other application? HTH, John OK, I took a look at the Celebird checker and it is not able to see the condition attribute in the header, even though it clearly exists. I suggest contacting them as it appears to be a possible issue with their software. What happens when you submit the feed to Google?
Reason for edit: Celebird information found

The problem is with the GoogleBase feed that I generate from NS. Of 618 items exported, Google is saying all 618 items are missing conditions.

The one I pulled from your site this morning (google-1.txt) only has 594 items, and does in fact include the condition attribute. Is this the feed that is not being allowed to be uploaded? Are you editing this feed in any way after it is generated by the cart? In reviewing the feed on your site this morning, it appears to be formatted properly as per Google's rules.

Mystery solved: for some reason the automatic upload was pulling from an https: file extension rather than http:, so the uploaded database was old. It's fine now.
Thanks.
