My website (openroomfurniture.com) went live in May and I'm now focused on SEO. I just learned that hyphenated page URLs are more search engine friendly than alphanumeric. Currently Alphanumeric is selected but I want to change the setting to hyphen delimited.

When I change to hyphen delimited will this automatically change all existing URLs to hyphenated or only on products that are added after the switch to hyphenated?

If it changes all current URLs will e-Commerce Pro automatically generate 301 redirects for each URL?

If changing to hyphen delimited will I have to manually edit each current URL and manually create a 301 redirect for each edited URL? OR is there an automated way to do this?

Changing to hyphen delimited will not auto change all of your urls. You need to manually change the ones you want to change, when you do change the url manually, the Redirect Manager will auto generate the proper redirect for that modification which is real handy.

I thing the jury is still out on hyphens or no hyphens as far as SEO goes. I am in the hyphen camp myself, but my opinion is it only helps in the presentation of the url in the serp results which in effect might increase the chance of a click on that result, which in the long run would help advance the SERP to a higher placement.
