NS - The new checkout features bring some good and bad:

The GOOD:

First and Last Names from Step 1 are carried over to the credit card first and last names. This is good.

The BAD:

The new city lookup function which auto populates city name is wrong about 80% of the time. On top of this people have been writing their address in the following order for decades:

Name, Company Name, Address, City, State, Zip.

Putting the zip code and country selection fields up between company name and address throws off the natural flow of putting in this information.

Given that the auto populate isn't working, I'm requesting that you change this back to the flow that EVERY other website on the planet uses.

I'll give you credit for trying, but this isn't helping anyone. And causing more work / confusion.

NS support told me it is a known issue about the auto populate problems. Hopefully this means we will see a fix soon.

They also told me this was put into place to address problems where the customer enters their own city incorrectly.

I have 6 ecomemerce websites, and have been doing this for 10 years. Customers incorrectly spelling their city name is a non-issue. It happens very rarely, and when it does UPS, Fedex, or USPS will fix it for us anyway.

Please help address this issue. I am happy to provide any help possible.

Thank you,
Dan Kennedy

Agree that customers can put in their own city - correctly 99% of the time.

Thanks guys,

I'm beginning to wonder if these forums are still monitored or if they've been left out to pasture. (IMG:http://forums.networksolutions.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I agree...I don't like the change either. The state and zip codes need to follow the street address!

It looks like this change happened in November.

I looked at the stats for our checkout page October 2013 vs. October 2012 and they are about the same as far as time on page and exit %.

I then compared December 2013 vs. December 2012 and the time on page is up 13%, exit rate is up 26%.

You might usually like to see time on page increase, but not on checkout pages. This and the increase exit rate indicate that the page performance post-change is lower. I'm interested if other people are seeing the same thing?

This is one of the most important pages on our websites. This increase in exit rate cost our company about 1.25 orders per day in the month of December.

This really needs to be fixed.

Completely agree, I would like this to be an option rather than forced. Too many calls, too many errors.
