We have been updating this blog with information for customers. Here are instructions for what to do and look for to make sure your WordPress install is functioning properly:

1.  ”Error connecting to your database”:

  • Login to your Network Solutions account
  • Go to Web Hosting >>choose the hosting package by name
  • Go to Configurations>> Database manager
  • Click on the link “show: and this gives you your database username and password
  • Next use FileManager or your FTP to open the file wp-config.php

You will see these lines with the username and password
/** MySQL database username */

define( ‘DB_USER’, ‘THE USER NAME GOES HERE’ );

/** MySQL database password */

<ul style="padding-left: 40px;">
[*]define( ‘DB_PASSWORD’, ‘PASSWORD GOES HERE’ );
[*]Compare and make sure the passwords are the same in both place if not change the password in the WP Config file
[/list]
2.  One Click Install Plugins:

  • If you are using the Network Solutions one click install
  • Login to your Network Solutions account
  • Web Hosting >>choose the hosting package by name
  • Go to “Site Enhancements” >> “Open Source Library”
  • Click on “Manage” for the application you have installed
  • Click on the “Repair this blog” button
  • This should reinstall the application without affecting your database
  • However if you have made any custom changes to plugin themes or code you should check that as well.
  • If you have not used our open source library please consider a fresh clean reinstall of your plugin.

3.  Reinstalling WordPress Themes:

  • This is only if you did not use the Network Solutions one-click WordPress Install
  • This is suggested only if you believe there maybe residual code exisiting in your WordPress.  This could need expertise with WordPress installations so we advice you contact your webmaster/web developer if you have installed a custom theme. Our support team can be reached at listen@networksolutions.com if you have questions.

4.  Resubmitting your site to Google:

If you or your website visitors at any time got a warning from Google during a site visit, we recommend you submit your site to Google for review. Google has posted details of the process here: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/b...mp;answer=45432
