Our website is up and running, and we'd like your opinion of what you see and think about it.

Hey Brian,
Welcome...here is a tidbit per your specific request (criticism requested). I only have a minute, but I'll try to dig deeper when I have more time. I think you've begun with a good overall structure. I hope this feedback helps.

>The huge block of text at the top/middle of you index. I would suggest losing it - looks like a brick wall. Nobody would want to deal with reading it. If it is there for SEO effect, move it down below the fold and change the font to 10px (or a smaller size). Even though we are all fighting for search engine attention - we really are writing for humans in the end. If you are going to use a block of text, hyperlink some of it to be useful. For example, "...contact us" should be hyperlinked to your contact page. "Educational and recreational software..." should be hyperlinked to that category.

>About Us - add images with alt text and take advantage of the SEO potential. Create some deep links in your about us page on some key terms...but keep it readable and relative to visitors.

>Sorry - had to test your contact form by entering some gibberish. You should add a confirmation page that leads a visitor towards your product once they've submitted a contact - or (at least) confirms that their submission was received.

>Suggest rewording your nav to encompass more key dense links. One of your links is, "Monitors" - which I doubt will ever rank well in serps (search engine response/results pages)...it's too generic. I would suggest adding a long tail key link* --- search "long tail" in G to learn more if you are not sure what this is...

>Tried to add an item to the cart by clicking an "add to cart" button on an item - nothing happened?

>Return policy. You have a big block paragraph with an explanation, but no contact info or anything that makes it easy for me to process a return.

>"View larger image" links below display link in product descriptions seems to pop up a window with a smaller image than the display?

>On your privacy-policies page - make the list of topics at the top hyperlinks that drop down to anchor text, for example, if I click on "How we use information" it will drop me to that content. The other suggestion here is to keep your text consistent. At the top of the page, you list "How we use information" - but below, it is called, "The way we use information." Keeping titles/topics consistently named in reference is one of the best practices in writing web content

>I love Netsol, but I would suggest ditching the "powered by Network Solutions..." link below your footer

>Whoa - just noticed that you do have a live cart on the lower left hand side nav. Would never have noticed it if I had not really searched for it. Been doing retail online for about 12 years - never have seen a cart on the lower left...would strongly suggest moving it to the upper right. I added 3 items to the cart and was frustrated, thinking that there was something wrong with the site because I could not find the cart (...and I've been doing this for years and years)

>>Also noticed that adding an item to your cart blows out the width of your left column.

...ok, got to run. I do hope that this critical feedback (that you asked for) is helpful.

Wishing you best of luck with your site.

>>>Update...just checked your site again 5/19 and noticed that you put some of this into play! Looks on track...best of luck with it!
